The volunteers of the Dream Race
The Mobile headquarter is set up in a camping van and the team that will be in charge of it is the lung of the organization. By centralizing the CPs’ crossing of each team, the Headquarters team follows night and day the evolution of the competitors and will activate the security system if needed. For the 2007 edition, added to the usual network, the headquarter will follow in real time the evolution of the race thanks to a sateliite tracking system.
The controllers, located on each CP, are the eyes, the hands and the voice of the organization team. Their role is to control the crossing of each team but also to comfort the competitors that are a bit low. The former competitors usually vaunt the conviviality and the enthusiasm that emanates from the controllers.
Radios : this mission is confided to the ATRASSEC association that is known for its public utility and that often works with the civil security department. Its role is major as it assures the communication between the CPs and the Mobile Headquarter, complementary to the satellite system. It is the eyes and the ears of the organization.
The medical team is composed of ER doctors, sports doctors and lifesavers. This medical team looks after the good health of the competitors and is ready to intervene in case of accident.
The Naval security: In charge of looking after the competitors on the kayak parts of the race.
The logistics team : in charge of the logistics of the headquarters in Noumea, as well setting up the various support points, the road signs for the security and for the audience.
